Phyllis Reed is the Comprehensive Health and Physical Education content specialist for the Colorado Department of Education. As the Comprehensive Health Specialists she: • Collaborates with the CDE Standards and Support team in the development of health curriculum templates for the Colorado District Sample Curriculum project. • Facilitates District and Area workshops with Colorado educators to develop health curriculum sample units that align with Colorado Academic Standards • Collaborates with Colorado health educators on the Content Collaborative project for the evaluation of health assessments and development of high level assessments that align with the academic standards • Collaborates with internal and external health partners and groups throughout Colorado to advance health education for schools and students. • Assist school districts in the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Health Standards, assessment and evaluation • Provide ongoing technical assistance and support to the Comprehensive Health and Wellness grantees • Assist the Director of Health and Wellness in the implementation of the Chronic Disease Interagency agreement with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment • Assist the Health and Wellness Unit with the implementation of the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS)
