Community Art Project — Moments That Matter
Education, like life, is a series of moments. As we look back, it is not the day-to-day minutiae we remember, but rather those individual moments that truly mattered. As educators, we are lucky enough to have a wealth of these moments — students finally grasping something they struggled with, former students coming back to tell us how much we inspired them, making a connection with a child who truly needed a friend, seeing kids facing adversity rise above and succeed, and so much more! These moments make us rich, even when our paychecks don’t. Now is your chance to share these moments with others with this Moments That Matter mosaic in the Westin Snowmass Conference Center lobby throughout the Showcase. Choose a moment in your career or in your own education that highlights the awesome power of learning and the amazing influence teachers have on society. With nothing more than a CD case, a piece of paper, markers, and your memories, you can inspire others and help to remind all of us why we got into education in the first place! raftcolorado.org

“Most Likely to Succeed” Film Screening
See the provocative 90-minute documentary “Most Likely to Succeed” about High Tech High, a San Diego charter school intentionally designed so teachers and students get time, space, and resources to innovate. EdWeek’s review says, “As a conversation starter, Most Likely is among the best edu-documentaries ever produced.” While thousands of innovations are possible in public education, access to resources that make innovation possible can be challenging. CEI believes there are no silver bullets or one-size-fits-all solutions when tackling challenges in education. The thought-provoking story of High Tech High — including teachers as designers and meaningful adult-student connections — presents one perspective to address some of our most entrenched challenges facing educators today. Should it be replicated? What other innovative models should be scaled? See the film and join the conversation. mltsfilm.org
